About This Machine

Trophy is a 1941 electro-mechanical pinball machine manufactured by Bally, officially dated February 28, 1941 as Model 426. Historical documentation is somewhat murky: several Bally records identify this Model 426 as 'Trophy,' though there is reason to suspect its actual name may have been 'Club Trophy.' A separate Model 377 'Trophy' is referenced in Bally's records but may never have been produced.

As an EM single-player game from the early 1940s, Trophy predates the flipper (which would not be introduced until 1947), so gameplay would have relied on skillful shooting and nudging rather than flipper control, in line with pinball design conventions of its era.

Little is documented about the machine's designer or specific gameplay mechanics, and its history remains somewhat uncertain due to incomplete manufacturer records. Nevertheless, Trophy remains an interesting artifact from Bally's early years, illustrating the ambiguity that can surround even officially documented vintage machines.
