Twin-Gain
About This Machine
The Twin-Gain, produced in 1977 by Petaco, S.A. (Procedimientos Electromagneticos de Tanteo y Color) of Madrid, Spain, is a late example of electro-mechanical pinball design, arriving as the industry was shifting toward solid-state technology. The same machine was exported under the Recel name, also called 'Twin-Gain.'
Gameplay features include two flippers, two pop bumpers, two slingshots, two vari-targets, and one standup target, along with an end-of-ball bonus. Its theme draws on gambling and slot-machine imagery, fitting for a Spanish EM machine of the era.
Beyond a service manual date of June 1977, little further documentation of the Twin-Gain's design, sales, or reception has surfaced, leaving much of its history to be pieced together by collectors.
