About This Machine
The KISS Premium (2015) from Stern Pinball embodies the raw energy of one of music's most iconic bands. It follows in the footsteps of Bally's 1979 'KISS' pinball machine, whose pop bumper cap artwork this version deliberately echoes, and represents Stern's modern take on the licensed rock theme using its SPIKE system electronics.
Gameplay-wise, KISS Premium offers an electrifying experience. With 10 standup targets, a 4-bank drop target, a single drop target, a spinning target, and a spinning disc, there's no shortage of challenges and rewards to tackle. A magnet moving behind the playfield's back panel slowly transports a captured ball from the right-side ramp up to a left-side elevated stage, adding a distinctive mechanical feature to the game. Custom speech from Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley further immerses players in the world of KISS.
The design and art on this machine are equally striking, with a black powder-coated cabinet, red-bordered translite, and colorful decal artwork. The playfield features vibrant LED lighting, including newly designed RGB LEDs in the pop bumpers and full-spectrum RGB LEDs along the playfield arrow inserts and insert grid. As a licensed KISS collectible built on Stern's SPIKE platform, this machine appeals to both KISS fans and pinball enthusiasts.
