KISS (Pro)
About This Machine
The KISS (Pro) pinball machine, designed by John Borg and released by Stern Pinball in 2015, celebrates the legacy of one of rock's most iconic bands. As a licensed music-themed pinball, it reflects the pop-culture licensing that has become a staple of modern pinball design, running on Stern's SPIKE system.
Gameplay on KISS (Pro) is characterized by fast-paced action, with four pop bumpers, four slingshots, and 14 standup targets providing ample opportunities for high-scoring combinations. A spinning target and spinning disc add an extra layer of challenge, while custom speech from Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley injects personality and immersion. RGB LED lighting throughout the playfield, including newly designed lighting in the pop bumpers and full-spectrum arrow inserts, creates a visually striking presentation, and a translite (rather than a traditional backglass) displays the KISS logo with blue borders.
KISS (Pro) is the entry-level model in a three-tier lineup that also included Premium and Limited Edition versions, distinguished by a non-animated Paul Stanley guitar-playing figurine and a stationary molded Gene Simmons head. Its pop bumper cap artwork intentionally echoes Bally's 1979 'KISS' pinball, tying the modern machine to the band's pinball history.
