About This Machine

Whoa Nellie! Big Juicy Melons is a highly distinctive and entertaining pinball machine that showcases Stern Pinball's commitment to creativity and innovation. As one of Dennis Nordman's designs, it builds upon the foundation laid by classic games while introducing fresh features to captivate players. Released in 2015, this solid-state electronic game combines a whimsical theme with intricate gameplay mechanics.

The machine boasts an array of features that set it apart from its contemporaries. The four pop bumpers, star rollovers, and bullseye targets create a dynamic environment where strategy and skill collide. The plungerskill shot, speech functionality, and free ball return lane all contribute to the game's engaging experience. Notably, the use of a small LCD display for attract mode and operator maintenance demonstrates Stern's forward-thinking approach to pinball design.

The Whoa Nellie! Big Juicy Melons cabinet is an art piece in itself, featuring a weathered fruit crate design that adds to the game's rustic charm. The inclusion of real glass backglasses, powder-coated metal legs, and unique beer can-based leveling system further showcase Stern's attention to detail. As one of the most visually striking games from this era, Whoa Nellie! Big Juicy Melons is a must-see for pinball enthusiasts and collectors alike, offering an immersive experience that combines fantasy with agricultural themes in a way that's both nostalgic and fresh.
