Tura De Luxe
About This Machine
The Tura De Luxe is a rare Pure Mechanical (PM) pinball machine of unknown manufacturer and year, known from a single example examined by researchers. Its playfield layout, art design, and colors are identical to those of the French game Scott, Adickes & Cie's 1933 'Arc En Ciel,' suggesting a shared origin or design lineage, though the exact relationship between the two is unconfirmed.
The Tura De Luxe's gameplay mechanics offer 10 balls for 25 centimes, letting players experience multiple games per play. The machine's use of trap holes and free play holes adds an extra layer of strategy, as players must carefully navigate their shots to avoid losing balls or triggering the "PERDU" outhole troughs.
While the machine's theme is unknown, its design and art are undoubtedly part of its charm. Each free play hole bears a clear label in French, reading "A REJOUER," while the outhole troughs are marked with "PERDU" (lost). An oval gold-colored metal plaque, whose inscription could not be read, was mounted to the lower left apron. The simplicity of the design belies a complexity that rewards close observation, making the Tura De Luxe an intriguing piece of pinball history.
