About This Machine

The Walking Dead (Pro), designed by John Borg with sound by Brian Schmidt and software by Lyman F. Sheats Jr., was manufactured by Stern Pinball in September 2014, based on the popular AMC zombie-apocalypse TV series. It joined a long tradition of licensed TV-themed pinball machines, bringing the show's post-apocalyptic setting to the playfield.

Key gameplay features include two flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, star rollovers, a magnet, a 3-bank drop target, and a free ball return lane. An animated prison with a bashable, magnet-capturing zombie head and a "Well Walker" bash toy bring the show's iconic locations to life. Multiball mode adds an extra layer of challenge as players face off against hordes of undead. The game's design uses black powder-coated legs, armor, hinges and front molding, a powder-coated steel backbox, a translite in place of a traditional backglass, and decal cabinet artwork; voice characterizations were provided by Fred Young.

The Walking Dead Pro carried an MSRP of $5,995 and remains a popular addition for fans of the franchise and pinball enthusiasts alike, notable for its immersive theme and multiple bash-toy mechanisms.
