Pinball-42
About This Machine
Pinball-42 is a solid-state electronic machine produced by MarsaPlay of Viator, Almería, Spain, with a documented manufacture date of 2013. Its most distinctive feature is a 32-inch LCD screen used as the playfield rather than a traditional physical layout, an approach also later used by a similarly named, unrelated 2014 'Pinball-42' from Germany's Kieswetter KG (The Pinball Company).
Gameplay is reportedly split across five original virtual tables, including Armageddon, Cars & Girls, and Hell On Earth (the other two are not documented). This setup would let operators or players choose between multiple themed layouts on a single cabinet, offering more variety than a conventional single-playfield machine.
Details about the machine's specific rules and mechanics are sparse, and MarsaPlay did not respond to requests for promotional flyers. The reliance on a video screen instead of physical playfield components also raises open questions about long-term serviceability and preservation. Even so, Pinball-42 is a notable example of manufacturers experimenting with screen-based playfields in the early 2010s.
