About This Machine

The 2014 Stern Pinball "Mustang" Premium "Boss" edition is a highly regarded and sought-after addition to any serious pinball collection. As one of the many high-end models produced by Stern Pinball, this machine showcases the company's commitment to innovation and attention to detail. The Mustang theme itself is a nod to the iconic American muscle car, evoking the spirit of freedom and rebellion that defines the automotive culture of the 1960s.

Gameplay-wise, the Mustang offers an engaging experience with its robust feature set, which includes two flippers, four pop bumpers, two slingshots, and seven stand-up targets, among others. The machine also boasts a solitary drop target, a 5-bank drop target, and a spinning target, all contributing to a dynamic gameplay experience that will challenge even the most skilled players. Notably, the Mustang features a captive ball among its shooting challenges, adding an extra layer of precision play to its layout.

Visually, the machine's design and art are striking, with a sleek, modern aesthetic that accurately captures the essence of the classic Mustang car. The use of color-changing LED lights and a backlit translite creates an immersive atmosphere, while the presence of a pony emblem on the speaker panel adds to the theme's authenticity. Interestingly, the manufacturer's decision to include wiring for a shaker motor but not providing the motor itself forced customers to source it from third-party providers, making this machine a notable example of the complexities and nuances involved in pinball manufacturing.
