Elektro-Bomber (Type C)
About This Machine
The Elektro-Bomber (Type C) is an electro-mechanical pinball machine from T.H. Bergmann & Company of Hamburg, Germany, produced circa the late 1930s (the company was active from 1938 to 1968). It has no backbox, distinguishing it from later "Brillant" versions of the game, and its exact production year has not been determined.
The Elektro-Bomber (Type C) is a flipperless, single-player game featuring 20 spring bumpers, along with lights and bells for added feedback. Its playfield is chrome metal, and the cabinet is advertised at 54 x 109 cm. The maximum displayed score is 80,000 points.
As with many vintage European EM machines from this era, the Elektro-Bomber's original theme and artwork are not well documented. A version of this game with 16 bumpers is known as the Elektro-Bomber (Type B). The lack of surviving documentation adds to its rarity and appeal among collectors and historians of early pinball.
