About This Machine

The Disney TRON Legacy (4th Edition) pinball machine, designed by John Borg, was produced by Stern Pinball in 2013 in a run of approximately 200 units. As the fourth production run of Stern's 2011 'Disney TRON Legacy,' it introduces the "Quorra/Gem translite," featuring two female characters from the movie, Gem and Quorra, as a notable departure from earlier runs. Cabinet art on this edition uses decals rather than screened art.

Gameplay draws on the iconic Disney/TRON franchise, running on Stern's S.A.M. Board System with software by Lyman F. Sheats Jr., Lonnie D. Ropp, and Tom Uban. Toys include two motorcycles, a non-moving Recognizer figure, and a TRON video arcade cabinet replica.

Notably, this fourth run shipped with a choice of two translites: the new Quorra/Gem translite as well as the "CLU translite" that had previously been exclusive to the 3rd Edition. As with the 2nd and 3rd Editions before it, Stern provided wiring for a shaker motor but did not include the motor itself, requiring customers to source one from after-market providers. Collectors should check the manufacturer's sticker on the back of the cabinet to confirm which of the four TRON Legacy production runs a given machine belongs to.

Notable Features:
This is a fourth production run of Stern's 2011 'Disney TRON Legacy' that completed in the first quarter of 2013. The most obvious difference from the previous runs is that the translite features two female characters from the movie, named Gem and Quorra. This is the so-called "Quorra/Gem transl ite". The cabinet art uses decals (not screened art). This fourth run game also shipped with an additional translite, known as the "CLU transl ite". Previously, the CLU translite was found only on the third production run, Stern's 2012 'Disney TRON Legacy (3rd Edition)'. With the fourth run, the operator was given a choice of translites to display in the backbox. If a game has a CLU translite displayed in its backbox, the manufacturer sticker on the back of its cabinet should clarify from which production run the game was made. On all Editions after the first one, the manufacturer provided the wiring for a shaker motor but did not provide the motor itself. Customers had to buy the shaker motor from after-factory providers.
