Space Game (1 card)
About This Machine
The Space Game (1 card) is a solid-state electronic bingo-style pinball machine manufactured by Petaco, S.A. (Procedimientos Electromagnéticos de Tanteo y Color) of Madrid, Spain, a company that operated between 1962 and 1977. Its exact release year is unknown.
One of the most notable aspects of the Space Game is its extensive use of trap holes, with 25 holes scattered throughout the playfield. Petaco produced two "Space Game" bingo machines that differ mainly in their backglass design: this one-card version, and a seven-card version. The one-card backglass features a miniaturized image of the seven-card version's backglass, though it's unclear which was made first. The company also produced an export version of this game through Recel in 1979.
The machine's Space Fantasy theme reflects the space-age aesthetic common to bingo pinball machines of its era. With limited surviving documentation, the Space Game remains an intriguing piece of Spanish pinball history for collectors and historians.
