About This Machine

SlugFest (Second Model) is a baseball-themed pinball machine produced by Williams Electronics Games in 1991. Designed by Mark Ritchie with artwork by Pat McMahon and Linda Deal (aka Doane), it uses a magnet under the playfield that affects the path of the pitched balls, adding an element of unpredictability to the baseball-themed action.

At its core, SlugFest challenges players to master pitching, batting, and fielding mechanics built around its sports theme. The magnet system creates a dynamic playing experience where ball trajectories can surprise even experienced players.

This Second Model (Model 60021) differs from the earlier First Model (60001) in several ways: the upper playfield's "Double" inserts are orange rather than blue, none of the bases on the baseball diamond are marked with a white square, the red banner under the playfield glass has decorative stars instead of instructions, the instruction and price cards are housed in metal holders on the lower playfield plastics, and the top edges of the cabinet are trimmed in blue rather than red. It also includes an upgraded Card Dispenser Assembly (part A-14471-1) not found on the First Model.
