Tura-Ball De Luxe
About This Machine
The Tura-Ball De Luxe is a rare and enigmatic pure mechanical pinball machine of unknown manufacture, believed to date from the early 1930s. Its playfield layout matches that of Tura Automatenfabrik GmbH's 1933 'Tura-Ball,' though this example has a solid pale-yellow background and English-language markings ("Free Play" and "Out") on the lower playfield, suggesting it may have been produced for an English-speaking market.
The machine features ten trap holes and four free-play holes, along with two out-hole troughs, creating a gameplay experience that rewards skillful players aiming for the scoring holes while avoiding the outholes. Because the front of the cabinet was not visible in surviving photos, it's unclear whether the machine used a coin slot or was operated as a table-top game.
The Tura-Ball De Luxe's exact manufacturer and origin remain unknown, and no clear theme or artwork has been documented. Even so, its close relationship to the Tura-Ball original makes it an interesting artifact for collectors and historians studying how early pinball designs were shared or copied across manufacturers.
