Jolly Roger
About This Machine
The Jolly Roger is a pirate-themed Solid State Electronic (SS) pinball machine designed by Creative Products of Downers Grove, Illinois. It never went into production -- only a single prototype was ever built, making it one of the rarest pinball machines in existence, known to collectors only through that one surviving unit.
Despite never reaching production, the prototype's design boasts an ambitious feature set: three flippers, two pop bumpers, two slingshots, nine standup targets, three spinning targets, two kick-out holes, a 3-bank drop target, a horseshoe lane, a left outlane kickback, and 3-ball multiball play.
Little is documented about why Jolly Roger was never brought to market, but its unusually feature-rich prototype hints at an ambitious pirate-themed title that, for whatever reason, Creative Products chose not to release commercially.
