About This Machine

The Gran Dominó, manufactured by Iberomatic S.A. of Barcelona, Spain, is an electro-mechanical pinball machine produced in 1972, sharing its playfield layout with Gottlieb's 1965 'Bank-A-Ball'.

Gameplay centers on two flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, and seven standup targets. A distinctive center-playfield reel steps through several domino faces in keeping with the game's theme, while the backbox features an animation of dominoes dropping into view. The single-digit match number sits on a red reel that only becomes visible when it lights at the end of a game, and the maximum displayed score is 99,999 points, with sound provided by three chimes and a knocker.

The backglass is made of glass rather than plastic and carries the word 'Falta' silkscreened below the game's name. Little is documented about the machine's designer, but its domino theme and animated backbox make it a distinctive example of early-1970s Spanish EM pinball.
