Golden Turf

The Golden Turf, manufactured by Show Games of Belgium under their trade name SG, is a rare and intriguing solid state electronic pinball machine that has remained something of an enigma in pinball history. Its exact release year is unknown, but as an electronic bingo-style machine it likely dates from later in the industry's history than the electro-mechanical bingo games that dominated earlier decades.

As a bingo machine, the Golden Turf plays 5 balls per game rather than offering simultaneous multiball play. Its playfield is dominated by an unusually large array of 25 trap holes, creating many opportunities for players to sink balls to score.

The design and artwork on the Golden Turf reflect its horse-racing theme, depicted through vibrant colors and stylized illustrations befitting the 'Sports - Horse Racing' subject matter. Although specific details about the designer are not available, the machine has a distinct personality that reflects its time period. As one of the few known machines from Show Games' catalog, the Golden Turf serves as an interesting piece of pinball history for enthusiasts to study and appreciate.
