About This Machine
This unidentified pure mechanical pinball machine is a Whiffle-style clone, one of many derivative machines produced from the popular Whiffle design in the early days of pinball. Its manufacturer and exact date remain unknown, leaving much of its history a mystery.
Notable features include 1-cent play and a slotted ball lift escutcheon, mechanical elements typical of coin-operated games from this genre. The cabinet measures approximately 37 inches long and 17 1/2 inches wide. A bullseye design of concentric red circles appears on the upper left and right ball arches, as well as on the lower cabinet trim near the legs.
Without a confirmed manufacturer, designer, or date, much about this machine's origins remains speculative. Still, as a surviving example of the Whiffle-clone genre, it offers a window into the crowded early marketplace of mechanical pin games.
