Transformers™ Decepticon Violet Limited Edition
About This Machine
The Transformers Decepticon Violet Limited Edition, designed by George Gomez and released in 2011 by Stern Pinball, showcases only the Decepticon warring faction, distinguishing it from the two-faction "Combo" edition and its Autobot Crimson sibling released the same year. Like its counterparts, it runs on Stern's S.A.M. board system, with dots animation by Mark Galvez and Tom Kyzivat, mechanics by John Rotharmel, sound and music by David Thiel, and software by Lonnie D. Ropp and Waison Cheng.
The cabinet is advertised at 55 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 75 1/2 inches high, weighing 250 pounds, with artwork built around the game's signature violet color scheme reflecting the Decepticon theme.
Production was confirmed at 125 units, the same limited run as the Autobot Crimson edition, making the Decepticon Violet a scarce find for collectors. Games shipped to North America operate on 60Hz power only and are incompatible with 50Hz regions like Europe and the UK. At launch, it carried an MSRP of $6,999.
