Sinbad

Sinbad, from the Spanish manufacturer Explomatic of Sevilla, is a single-player copy of Gottlieb's four-player 1978 'Sinbad.' Little else is documented about Explomatic, which reportedly took over manufacturing operations from Maresa of Madrid around 1977-78, reusing design elements from Maresa's logo on its own card holders.

As a scaled-down copy of Gottlieb's original, Sinbad likely shares much of its playfield layout and scoring concepts, adapted for single-player cabinets common among European manufacturers of the era. Its Fantasy - Myth and Legend theme, inherited from the Gottlieb original, evokes classic tales of Arabian Nights-style adventure.

Because records for small European manufacturers of this period are sparse, exact production numbers and dates for this version remain unknown. Sinbad nonetheless offers an interesting example of how American pinball designs were adapted and re-released by smaller European manufacturers in the late 1970s.
