Tasty Samba
About This Machine
Tasty Samba, manufactured in 1977 by Industria (Electromecánica) de Recreativos S.A. (INDER) of Madrid, Spain, is a four-player electro-mechanical pinball machine with a music-and-dancing theme, and is the multi-player counterpart to INDER's single-player 1977 'Tasty Samba.'
Gameplay features include two flippers, three pop bumpers, two spinning targets, a kick-out hole, and left and right dual inlanes with an open-elbow design that lets the ball pass between inlane and outlane in either direction, adding an unusual dynamic to ball control. The game supports 3 or 5 ball play.
While little is documented about the machine's designer, Tasty Samba's dance-themed presentation reflects INDER's willingness to explore lighter, festive subject matter in its EM lineup, making it an interesting find for collectors of 1970s Spanish pinball.
