Rudy Durand's TILT

Players: 4
Production: Never Produced

About This Machine

Rudy Durand is a pinball prototype that was never put into production. It was designed by Michael "Pinball" Sehnert for Coffee-Mat, intended for production had the 1979 Hollywood movie 'Tilt' become a commercial success -- the film did not, and the game was shelved. Its cabinet, including the artwork, was reused from Coffee-Mat's 1976 'Wipe-Out' and carries no serial number.

As an unfinished prototype, the playfield was never wired to light up and the backbox and lower cabinet were left empty. The intended design, for four players, called for two flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, eight standup targets, four star rollovers, a kick-out hole, a ball kicker, and a right outlane ball return gate.

This unfinished prototype survives today as a rare glimpse of a design that was abandoned before it ever reached the arcade floor.
