Transformers™ (Pro)
About This Machine
Transformers (Pro), released by Stern Pinball in 2011, is a licensed machine based on the Transformers robot/science-fiction franchise, designed by George Gomez with sound by David Thiel and software by Lonnie D. Ropp and Waison Cheng.
The Pro model's gameplay centers on two flippers, three pop bumpers, a kick-out hole, a spinning target, and a captive ball housed inside a Bumblebee Camaro car on the playfield, alongside toy figures of Megatron, Optimus Prime, and Ironhide. The cabinet also features QR codes on the instruction card and card holder, an early example of using scannable codes in pinball documentation.
Measuring 55 inches long, 27 inches wide, and standing 75 1/2 inches high at roughly 250 lbs, the machine commands attention in any game room. Games shipped to North America run on 60Hz power and are not compatible with 50Hz regions such as Europe. With its blend of action-packed gameplay and a recognizable film franchise, Transformers (Pro) remains a popular machine among pinball enthusiasts today.
