About This Machine

The Disney TRON Legacy Limited Edition pinball machine, designed by John Borg and manufactured by Stern Pinball in 2011, is a highly sought-after collector's item among pinball enthusiasts, with only 400 units confirmed produced. As a licensed tie-in to the Disney movie, it showcases the innovative design and engineering Stern was known for during this period.

Gameplay on the Disney TRON Legacy Limited Edition is fast-paced and challenging, with a focus on quick reflexes and strategic thinking. Players can take advantage of three flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, two spinning targets, and a unique right-side dual inlanes feature. The machine also boasts a 4-bank drop target and a bank of four stationary standup targets, along with a spinning disc, providing ample opportunities for high-scoring shots. The playfield includes several toys, including two motorcycles, a Recognizer figure, and a miniature TRON video arcade cabinet; on this Limited Edition, the Recognizer actually swings side to side for a visual effect, locking in place when the target bank drops to allow ball access to the spinning disc enclosure.

The machine's design and art are equally impressive, with screened cabinet art (rather than decals, as used on some other editions) that brings the TRON universe to life. The manufacturer's decision to include wiring for a shaker motor without providing the motor itself gave players the option to add one from an after-market supplier. As one of four distinct editions released by Stern between 2011 and 2013, the Limited Edition Disney TRON Legacy stands out as a rare and highly collectible entry in the TRON pinball lineup.
