The Rolling Stones
About This Machine
The Rolling Stones pinball machine, designed by Tom Kopera and released by Stern Pinball in 2011, is a tribute to one of rock music's most iconic bands. Built on Stern's S.A.M. board system, this solid-state, four-player machine features music and sound design by David Thiel and software by Lonnie D. Ropp and Lyman F. Sheats Jr. It plays a selection of Rolling Stones songs and includes multiple modes tied to the band's catalog, offering fans a themed gaming experience.
The cabinet's dimensions (55 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 75 1/2 inches high) and 250-pound weight make it a substantial presence in any game room or collector's showcase. The machine ships with four pinballs installed to support its multiball play. Games shipped to North America are built for 60-cycle electricity and are not compatible with 50-cycle regions such as Europe and the UK; the MSRP when new was $5,699.00.
The Rolling Stones brought the band's music and imagery to pinball, joining a lineage of music-licensed machines that includes earlier titles honoring other bands and artists. Its blend of themed modes and Stern's S.A.M.-era hardware made it a notable release among licensed music pinball machines of its era.
