KnocKnock
About This Machine
KnocKnock is a rare and little-documented electro-mechanical pin table from Osbrink Games Company of Los Angeles (which changed its name from R.H. Osbrink Manufacturing Company in 1933). No confirmed manufacture date survives, though period advertising shows it was also offered as a playfield change-out kit for other manufacturers' games made in 1934 and 1935, placing it firmly in pinball's earliest pre-flipper era.
As with many games from this period, detailed information on KnocKnock's specific gameplay mechanisms, theme, and artwork has not survived. Being from the early 1930s, it would have predated the flipper (introduced in 1947), relying instead on the passive playfield layouts, relays, and mechanical scoring typical of the era's electro-mechanical "pin games."
While much about KnocKnock remains unknown, its age and connection to Osbrink's early history in the coin-op industry make it a notable artifact for historians tracing pinball's roots before the modern flipper era.
