Piccadilly Junior
About This Machine
The Piccadilly Junior, produced by the Prosperity Coin Machine Corporation in 1933, is a pure mechanical (PM) pinball machine -- a 'pin table' from the early era of the industry, predating the invention of the flipper by well over a decade. Prosperity Coin Machine Corporation operated only briefly, from 1932 to 1933, making surviving examples of its games relatively scarce.
As a pin table of this period, gameplay would have involved a plunger propelling a metal ball onto a playfield studded with pins and scoring areas, with no flippers to control the ball's path -- players relied purely on the initial shot and gravity.
Beyond its manufacturer, year, and single-player format, little specific documentation survives about the Piccadilly Junior's design, art, or exact features. Its age and rarity make it a notable artifact of pinball's pre-flipper, pre-war era.
