About This Machine

The Lindstrom Tool and Toy Company's Baseball is a rare single-player bagatelle-style pure mechanical game from around 1933, produced during the company's brief run in Bridgeport, Connecticut (1932-1934). It carries no printed date, but is generally dated to circa 1933.

As a pure mechanical (PM) bagatelle, Baseball has no electrical components at all — no lights, no electromagnets, and, being a pre-1947 design, no flippers. Players guide the ball entirely through gravity, spring-loaded plungers, and mechanical obstacles, relying on skill and timing to score around a baseball theme.

Little documentation survives about the machine's specific playfield layout, artwork, or designer. Given Lindstrom's short operating window and the game's age, surviving examples are scarce, making Baseball a notable piece for collectors interested in the earliest mechanical baseball-themed amusement games.
