Space Shuttle
About This Machine
Space Shuttle is a two-player solid-state pinball machine released by Sega Enterprises of Tokyo in November 1977, tapping into the era's fascination with space exploration.
The playfield includes two flippers, two pop bumpers, two slingshots, four standup targets, four star rollovers, two spinning targets, a kick-out hole, and a messenger ball. Like other Sega titles of the era, it includes the "Your Number" match feature and a drop-down cabinet.
The cabinet and playfield artwork lean into the space-exploration theme, evoking the excitement surrounding spaceflight in the late 1970s. Little is documented about the machine's designer or its commercial reception, but it remains a representative example of Sega's early solid-state pinball output from Tokyo.
