About This Machine

The Las Vegas pinball machine is a rare electro-mechanical game produced by T.H. Bergmann & Company of Hamburg, Germany, sometime between the company's operating years of 1938 and 1968; one surviving flyer was dated by a retired German operator to 1967. It carries an "American Places" theme built around the titular city, for two players.

The machine is equipped with two flippers, four pop bumpers, four passive bumpers, two slingshots, four standup targets, and a kick-out hole. Two flyers exist for games named "Las Vegas" from this manufacturer, with similar but not identical backglasses and playfields -- it remains unclear whether one represents a prototype of the other or whether they were two distinct production runs.

Little else is documented about Las Vegas's designer or precise release date, but its combination of features and the mystery surrounding its exact history make it a machine of interest to collectors of European electro-mechanical pinball.
