Jet Surf
About This Machine
The Jet Surf pinball machine, manufactured by Rowamet Indústria Eletrometalúrgica LTDA of São Paulo, Brazil between 1980 and 1983, is a copy of Gottlieb's 1977 'Super Spin,' carrying that game's Fantasy-Recreation theme into the Brazilian market. As with other Rowamet titles, this reflects the common practice of South American manufacturers reproducing established American pinball designs.
One curious technical detail: in the single known backglass photo, the score windows appear to be solid-state displays with red film, though it isn't confirmed whether this circa-1977-era game actually has an MPU (the electronic 'brain' found in solid-state machines) or whether the displays are a later modification.
Beyond its manufacturer, theme, and this ambiguity around its scoring hardware, little further documentation exists about Jet Surf's specific release date, designer, or artwork, leaving several open questions about this Brazilian-made piece of pinball history.
