About This Machine

High Ace, manufactured by Segasa of Spain in 1974, is an electro-mechanical Add-A-Ball machine with a cards/gambling theme. It was produced under license from Williams Electronics, sharing its design with Williams' 1973 'Dealer's Choice' and the same design and coloring as Williams' 1974 'Lucky Ace.' Interestingly, the prototype for this game was initially mistakenly labeled with a Williams model number and 'Williams Electronics Inc.' on the backglass — an error corrected before production since the game was manufactured entirely in Spain.

Designed by Norm Clark with artwork by Christian Marche, High Ace features four flippers, three pop bumpers, eight standup targets, and a distinctive array of nine rollover buttons across the center of the playfield, along with an end-of-ball bonus.

While information about High Ace specifically is limited, its shared lineage with two well-documented Williams designs, and its status as a game Segasa produced under license for the Spanish market, make it a notable example of European licensing arrangements in 1970s pinball.
