Very Hot Pants
About This Machine
Very Hot Pants is a backglass design for a single-player electro-mechanical pinball machine from Bally Manufacturing Corporation, with a Fashion/Modeling theme. According to Keith Temple's book Pinball Art, this game was never produced, though its artwork — created by Christian Marche in an op-art style featuring young women in 1960s-70s psychedelic clothing — was later modified for use on Williams' 1971 machine "Swinger."
Because Very Hot Pants was never manufactured, no information exists about its intended gameplay or playfield design. The surviving backglass artwork shows five score reel windows, a Ball In Play counter, and a play window, consistent with Bally's EM machines of the era.
As an unproduced concept, Very Hot Pants is notable primarily as a piece of pinball art history — an example of Bally-commissioned artwork that found a second life on a different, later machine rather than becoming a released game in its own right.
