About This Machine

The Little Pro, manufactured by Bromley, Inc. of Northbrook, Illinois in 1990, was the company's first game and a golf-themed Solid State Electronic (SS) redemption machine. Only 250 units were confirmed produced, making it a relatively rare and collectible piece for enthusiasts of redemption-style pinball.

The Little Pro's golfing theme was an unconventional choice, built around a bat-game/redemption format complete with a ticket dispenser that rewards players. The buy-in feature, an operator-adjustable option, adds 6 strokes and 15 seconds to a paying player's game, letting operators tailor the difficulty and pacing of play.

Artwork was provided by Kevin O'Connor and Margaret Hudson, with music by Brian Schmidt. According to a Bromley representative contacted in 2010, the game's design was based on a 1940s golf-themed machine believed to be made by Stoner, with Bromley adding ramps to the original flat playfield design. The Little Pro stands as a notable, if under-documented, entry in the history of golf-themed redemption pinball.
