About This Machine

The Apollo-9 is a one-player electro-mechanical pinball machine with a space exploration theme, manufactured in 1969 by Talleres del Llobregat S.A. (trading as Automaticos) of Barcelona, Spain. According to the manufacturer's own flyer, the game was 'presented at the 25th London International Fair annual Amusement Trades Exhibition (ATE) 1969 with extraordinary success.'

The game features four flippers, three pop bumpers, three standup targets, and two roto-targets, along with a kicker positioned between the flippers that propels the ball upward toward a center target. It uses a wedge-head cabinet design.

Little further documentation survives about Apollo-9's designer or production numbers. Its space theme and 1969 release places it amid the broader wave of space-race-inspired entertainment of the era, though no direct connection to NASA's Apollo program has been documented.
