Terrific Lake
About This Machine
Meet Terrific Lake, a rare addition to any pinball collection. Manufactured by Sport Matic, S.A., of Barcelona, Spain in 1987, this solid-state electronic (SS) machine is a horror-themed four-player game, a less common theme choice for pinball of the era.
Gameplay-wise, Terrific Lake boasts a busy array of features: two flippers, three pop bumpers, four star rollovers, two spinning targets, a 4-bank drop target bank, a 3-bank drop target bank, a kick-out hole, and a standup target, along with a left crossover return lane and a gate to the shooter lane -- notably, with no slingshots. The machine's beveled backbox adds a distinctive look to its overall design.
Unfortunately, little information has been found regarding the designer or any interesting trivia surrounding this machine. Nevertheless, for pinball enthusiasts seeking a unique addition to their collection, Terrific Lake's blend of challenging gameplay, horror theming, and rarity make it an interesting discovery.
