About This Machine

Good Morning America is a one-of-a-kind promotional pinball machine built by Stern Pinball in December 2007. Rather than an original design, it is a custom adaptation of Stern's 2007 title 'Family Guy,' created by designer Pat Lawlor with software by Mike Kyzivat and Lonnie D. Ropp. Only a single unit was ever made.

The machine was built specifically to appear on the ABC television program Good Morning America, where it was featured during a January 18, 2008 broadcast. As a re-themed 'Family Guy' machine running on Stern's S.A.M. board system, it would have retained the underlying rules and layout of that game while sporting custom artwork and branding tied to the morning show.

Because it was a one-off promotional piece rather than a production model, Good Morning America was never sold to operators or collectors and is not a machine most pinball fans would have encountered in the wild. It remains a curious footnote in Stern's history - a reminder of how pinball has occasionally been used as a made-for-TV novelty rather than a mass-market product.
