Circus Wagon
About This Machine
The Williams Circus Wagon, manufactured in August 1955, is a classic mid-1950s electro-mechanical (EM) game designed by pinball legend Harry Williams with artwork by George Molentin. Harry Williams' creative vision brought the excitement of the circus and carnival to life on the playfield of this two-player machine.
The Circus Wagon boasts a variety of engaging gameplay features, including two flippers, three pop bumpers, eight passive bumpers, two slingshots, a kick-out hole, and a gobble hole - that last feature a hallmark of 1950s pinball, swallowing the ball in exchange for a big score. The combination of these elements creates an experience that challenges players to master the intricacies of timing and strategy.
Circus Wagon also carries an interesting piece of pinball lore: it is popularly believed to be the first two-player game produced by Williams, though it was actually preceded by the unusual two-player Williams' 1952 'Horsefeathers'. With its colorful, era-specific illustrations and whimsical theme transporting players to a bygone era of carnival entertainment, the Circus Wagon offers pinball enthusiasts a charming glimpse into the golden age of 1950s EM pinball.
