Poker
About This Machine
Poker is an Electro-Mechanical, single-player pinball machine of unknown manufacture and date. The word 'POKER' appears on both the left and right sides of the backglass, though oddly upside-down on the right. The overall design closely resembles Mills' 1935 'Balance,' but no record of a Mills game called 'Poker' has been found, leaving open the possibility that this is an unrecorded conversion of that machine.
Given the lack of documentation, the exact gameplay details cannot be confirmed with certainty, though its EM construction would have relied on relays, switches, and solenoids typical of the era to drive scoring, sounds, and lights.
The Poker's obscurity is a reminder that many early pinball manufacturers left behind little to no documentation or credits. Despite this, it remains an intriguing specimen for those interested in the lesser-known corners of pinball's early card- and gambling-themed history.
