Flashman

Flashman, manufactured by Sportmatic, S.A. of Barcelona, Spain in 1984, is a solid-state electronic pinball machine built around an outer-space fantasy theme. Its playfield layout has been compared to Bally's 1978 title 'Playboy.'

The machine features two flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, five standup targets, two star rollovers, two single drop targets, a 4-bank drop target, and an upper-left kickback lane -- a well-rounded set of features for a four-player SS game of its era.

Little information survives about Flashman's designer or development history, but as one of Sportmatic's space-themed titles, it represents an interesting example of early-1980s Spanish pinball manufacturing.
