Mega Golf Ball Frenzy
About This Machine
Mega Golf Ball Frenzy is a rare 2006 conversion of Williams' 1997 golf-themed classic 'No Good Gofers,' performed by TreasureCove LLC of Jeffersonville, Indiana under contract by EDS Technology of Plano, Texas. Only four units of this conversion were made, as of August 2006, making it one of the scarcest pinball variants in existence.
The conversion included all-new cabinet artwork screen-printed on vinyl, newly designed slingshot plastics, apron decals, and both an operations manual and operator's manual, while retaining the underlying No Good Gofers hardware and playfield features, including a spinning disc that doubles as a prize wheel and a floating slam ramp to the upper playfield.
The game bearing serial number 1 has a notable history: it was brought to the 2006 EDS Byron Nelson Championship in Dallas, Texas, where its backglass and cabinet were signed by golf legend Byron Nelson and 98 other professional golfers, and it was later auctioned during the tournament to benefit a children's charity. A related conversion, 'Ultimate Golf Ball Frenzy,' followed in 2007. Given its tiny production run and unique celebrity provenance, Mega Golf Ball Frenzy is a fascinating footnote in golf-themed pinball history.
