About This Machine

Royal Skittle is a single-player, solid-state bingo machine with a bowling theme, produced around 1997 as a conversion of Willy Michiels' 'Miss Bowling' -- most commonly converted from game #5757. Its exact manufacturer for the conversion itself is unknown.

The game can be played as either a 1-ball or 5-ball game. It uses LEDs on the playfield along with electronic eyes to detect the ball, features that were well-established in pinball and bingo machines by the late 1990s rather than early innovations.

The bowling theme is reflected in the playfield artwork and graphics. As a late-1990s conversion of an earlier bingo title, Royal Skittle is a notable example of how classic bingo machine designs continued to be repackaged and reissued decades after their original release.
