World Poker Tour™
About This Machine
The World Poker Tour pinball machine, designed by Steve Ritchie and Keith P. Johnson, was released by Stern Pinball in February 2006 as a licensed take on the popular televised poker series. Notably, it was the first Stern game to use the company's new S.A.M. Board System, making it a significant milestone in Stern's hardware history.
The cabinet is large for a pinball machine, advertised at 55 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 75 1/2 inches high, and weighing about 250 pounds. Brian Rood's artwork gives the cabinet and playfield a poker-themed look. Gameplay centers on Texas Hold'Em action, with ramp shots used to collect Flop, Turn, and River cards toward WPT events, plus a 5 Card Stud mode where hitting sixteen drop targets builds poker hands up to a Royal Flush, along with multiball modes like Ace-In-The-Hole and No Limit Multiball.
As a licensed tie-in to a popular TV series and the debut title for Stern's S.A.M. System, World Poker Tour holds a notable place in Stern Pinball's 2006 lineup and in the company's technical history.
