Sharp's Shooter Junior
About This Machine
Sharp, manufactured by Mortimer Glass Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1932, is a pure mechanical (PM) bagatelle-style pinball machine for a single player. It was also produced under a different name by the Sharp-Boyd Co. as 'Sharp's Shooter Junior.'
Not much is known about Sharp's specific gameplay features or designer. As a pure mechanical bagatelle game from the pre-flipper era, it would have relied on gravity, pins, and scoring pockets rather than any powered mechanisms - flippers and electro-mechanical scoring were still years away from being introduced to the industry.
Given its age and rarity, Sharp is a notable piece of early pinball history. Unfortunately, there is no information available on any notable aspects of design, art, or theme, which is not uncommon for machines from this era. Nevertheless, Sharp remains an interesting artifact from a formative period in the development of coin-operated bagatelle and pinball games.
