Basketball

Basketball, manufactured by IDSA of Madrid, Spain in 1986, is a solid-state electronic (SS) pinball machine with a basketball sports theme, built for up to 4 players. Its fast-paced, sports-themed gameplay would have appealed to enthusiasts seeking realistic challenges.

Basketball features a range of play elements, including two flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, and an array of 14 standup targets. The machine's design also incorporates left and right drop lanes as well as left and right crossover return lanes for added complexity, and allows players to select between 2 and 5 balls per player. Interestingly, the backglass displays the game's name as the single word "Basketball," while the instruction card and manual spell it as two words, "Basket Ball."

While specific details about the game's designer or notable artwork are not available, its use of color and graphics would have been considered impressive at the time of release. For collectors and enthusiasts interested in IDSA's output during the mid-to-late 1980s, Basketball offers a glimpse into the company's contribution to pinball history.
