Space Orbit!

Space Orbit! is a rare Italian pinball machine from 1972, produced by Skillgame (doing business as Renato Montanari Giochi) of Bologna as a copy of Gottlieb's 1972 'Space Orbit.' It carries an outer space theme consistent with the wider popularity of space and science-fiction motifs in pinball at the time.

As an add-a-ball, single-player EM game, Space Orbit! features two flippers, three pop bumpers, a vari-target, and a kick-out hole, giving players a modest but engaging set of scoring opportunities typical of early-1970s EM design.

Little is documented about the specific designer or artwork behind this Italian release beyond its status as a copy of the Gottlieb original. Its rarity as an Italian-made EM machine makes it an interesting find for collectors of European pinball history.
