Alaska
About This Machine
The Recreativos Franco Alaska is an electro-mechanical pinball machine produced by the Madrid-based manufacturer for the Spanish domestic market (an export version was also sold as Interflip's 'Alaska'). Its exact year of release is not confirmed, but as a single-player EM machine it reflects the mechanical era of pinball design.
The machine features two flippers, three pop bumpers, two kick-out holes, and two banks of 5-bank drop targets, with a Plexiglass playfield and a choice of 3- or 5-ball play. Its 'Match' feature uses the last three digits of the player's score, a common EM-era bonus mechanic used to award replays.
Little else is documented about Alaska's design or history, but its Plexiglass playfield and drop-target layout mark it as a solid example of Recreativos Franco's electro-mechanical output.
