Royal Flush

The Royal Flush is a rare electro-mechanical (EM) pinball machine from Maquinas Recreativas Sociedad Anonima of Madrid, Spain (Maresa). It is the single-player counterpart to Maresa's four-player 'Flush,' and both are copies of Gottlieb's 1976 'Royal Flush.' Its production year is unknown, and whether it was a licensed copy or an unlicensed reproduction of the American original remains unclear - a common ambiguity among Maresa's games, given restrictions on importing U.S. pinball machines into Spain.

Gameplay centers on a cards/gambling theme, with two flippers, a single pop bumper, dual slingshots, three standup targets, three dip targets, and a 9-bank drop target. Players can also aim for a kick-out hole and a right outlane ball return gate as part of the end-of-ball bonus scoring. The wedge-head backbox houses six score reels.

While little is known about the Royal Flush's designer or production history, its features make it an intriguing entry in the history of Spanish pinball manufacturing, offering collectors a rare opportunity to own a piece of that history.
