Domino
About This Machine
The Domino is a rare electro-mechanical pinball machine from Maquinas Recreativas Sociedad Anonima (Maresa) of Madrid, Spain, and a close copy of Gottlieb's 1968 'Domino.' Its exact production date is unknown. Interestingly, while the playfield layout and name come from the 1968 Gottlieb game, the coin door and drop-down cabinet are styled after Williams machines from 1965-1966, suggesting Maresa blended design cues from more than one American manufacturer.
Gameplay features include two flippers, four pop bumpers, and two slingshots typical of EM machines of the era, along with seven standup targets, two roto-targets, and two kick-out holes that add variety to the layout. The wedge head and drop-down cabinet design contribute to its distinctive look, and the maximum displayed score is 9,999 points.
Little is known about the designer or the specific inspiration behind this Spanish reproduction, but its distinctive blend of features makes it an intriguing find for collectors and enthusiasts of early electro-mechanical machines.
