Galaxy Play
About This Machine
Galaxy Play, manufactured in 1986 by CIC Play, S.A. of Barcelona, Spain, is a four-player solid-state pinball with an outer-space fantasy theme. Its backglass depicts a spaceship hovering above a city skyline as viewed from the ground, with a man and woman in the foreground, a contrast to the more cosmic, people-free backglass of its 1987 sequel, Galaxy Play 2.
Gameplay features two flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, two standup targets, a 4-bank of drop targets, a captive ball, and a kick-out hole, giving it a fairly full ruleset for a mid-1980s Spanish machine.
Little is documented about Galaxy Play's designer or production numbers, but its space-themed art and status as the first of a two-game series, followed by Galaxy Play 2 the next year, make it a notable entry in CIC Play's catalog.
